Feather lashes från KKCenterHK By kashaysblogg

Now I've tried the feather lashes model no. FE202 that I got from KKCenterHK a while back. They look really cool and would be perfect for Halloween!=) They were much easier to get in place than I thought they would be. When  I got them one of the lashes was a little bit bigger then the other and that one didn't fit my eye but it was easy to cut it in to the right length and it didn't look different then the one that I didn't need to cut.

If you would like a pair of you own then you can find them here  for USD $3.69.

The PUNKY BUTTERFL-EYE By fixyourfacemakeup

Salut mes amis!

Hope you're all happy and healthy. Today's post is a lashes review + easy makeup look in one, and I created this one just in time for Halloween. I've been carelessly neglecting the fact that Halloween is heavily revolved around makeup, so the next few posts will be dedicated strictly to costume makeup for this grandiose occasion!! Today's maquillage is inspired by the awesome lashes sent to me by my friends at KKcenterHK and I call it: The Butterfly that Landed on My EyE ::flutter::flutter::
Read more for the review + pix, deets, etc. :)

For this look, I used none other than KKcenterHK lashes number FE202 described as a pair of Green and Orange Plumes Pattern Round Feather Lashes (a mouthful indeed :) Here they are, packaged in a clear hard case (great for storage).
Price: $3.69
Includes: lashes, tray, hard case / box. Does not include lash adhesive.
Description: Dramatic, bright, bold feather false lashes to be used professionally or by any makeup enthusiast. These lashes are perfect for a dress-up party, carnival makeup, or Halloween.
Quality: As usual, I'm impressed with the quality of KKcenterHK's costume false lashes. The feathers are soft and light, therefore, they do not weigh heavy on the eye. The band of the lashes, although thick, is surprisingly flexible and is extremely easy to handle. The only drawback is that with lashes this delicate, one has to be very careful when removing them from the tray and even more careful when removing them from the eye. These lashes can be re-used if handled with care and caution.

As a special treat, KKcenterHK is offering a 10% off coupon exclusively for "Fix Your Face" by Maryam Maquillage readers. This coupon is good for any merchandise: lashes, makeup, nails or hair products. Click on the code to start shopping, but don't forget to enter it at checkout. This coupon ends  February 28, 2012, so get your goodies in time for the holidays!!!

NOW, On to the MAQUILLAGE!!!

Since these lashes are already very feminine and pretty, I wanted to wear them a bit differently. Traditionally, these lashes are to be worn on both eyes, with the feathers curving out, imitating natural lash growth. Instead, I decided the wear the pair on one eye, placed in such a way that the lashes curve inwards, as in the pic above. This way, the feathers look more like butterfly wings.
Over the years, I've seen far too many butterfly costumes and makeup looks aiming at girly, glittery and symmetrical pretty. Today, I didn't want to go for pretty... I wanted my butterfly to be somewhat punky. Also, I really wanted to accent one eye, as I do with my nails when I create nail art... Accenting one feature is all the craze right now. Anyway, here I am, looking a little Annie Lennox & giving you my most androgynous stare possible :)
With so much drama on my butterfleye, balance must be made with my other eye :))) On the lips: NYX lip cream in Antwerp.
To create this look, simply apply the lashes facing inwards and fill in the gaps between your skin and the lashes with a black liquid or gel liner. Also, line your waterline with a waterproof black liner. Apply black liquid or gel liner to your other eye and extend the inner and outer wings. Line the waterline of your other eye with a white liner to make it appear slightly bigger.
Wrap yourself with a neon boa and you're ready for the "Carnaval"... Save this look for Rio, baby!!!

bisous,

Maryam Maquillage

Spookfest 2011: Pumpkinette Makeup Look & Tutorial! By stephanielouiseatb

Yay! Halloween Makeup/Costume Ideas!
So I try NOT to buy the face paint and stuff every year, mostly because it does something awful to my skin! So I'm going to be putting together makeup looks with MAKEUP instead of something you'll only use once a year! Instead I'll be using low-cost options which means: affordable, reusable, & easy to find! Enjoy!
Here's the breakdown:
- Super affordable looks with items you can wear again and again!
- Mainly drugstore/low cost options!
- Use a lot of makeup you probably already have while supplementing!
End result? A beautiful Halloween look without a bunch of one-use products!
If you would like a high end version of any of these looks or you want to see a certain look in particular, just let me know and I will do my best to fulfill your request!
Pumpkinette Makeup Look!
This look was requested by a busy mom who wants to wear fun makeup for her son's first Halloween! He is a pumpkin!
For This Look:
Items you probably already have:
-concealer
-powder
-eye primer
-foundation
-bronzer (preferably with shimmer as its not for contouring)
-black mascara
-black gel eyeliner
-nude lip liner ( I used NYC Jumbo Lipstick Pencil in Bewitching)
-nude/brown gloss (I used ELF Liquid Lipstick in Maple Sugar)
Items needed:
- LA Colors Trio in Boardwalk ($1-$2)
- Wet n Wild Color Icon Shadow Single in Envy ($1 or less)
For the Dramatic Look:
-Lash glue of your choice

Create this look!

Step 1: Apply your face makeup as you normally would as well as your eye primer. Save bronzer till after you have cleaned up any fallout since its shimmery!

Step 2: After letting your eye primer sink in, apply your gel liner on inner eyelid, both bottom & top. Then slightly on the upper lashline on the outer corner if desired. I would definitely do this if you wanted to apply false lashes to give yourself a line to follow!
LA Colors Trio in Boardwalk
Step 3: Starting with the yellow shade, go directly under the browbone. This is your highlight so use a lighter touch.
Step 4: Take the orange shade and go from lashline to crease. Blend and add additional for impact if desired, but this is REALLY pigmented. Don't apply too much or it will crease throughout the evening.
Step 5: Take the deep green shade and an angled eyeliner brush. Line the outer 3/4ths of each eye. If you want a pointed/winged look like I have here, bring the brush up from your outter bottom lash line and use that line to connect your top lid for the point. Once again, this is very pigmented!
Step 6: Take the orange shade again and put it in your inner corners to smooth the section between where the green shadow ends and to brighten your eye.
Step 7: Remove any excess with a fan brush and then apply your bronzer to entire face, blending down the neck. Apply more to the apples of your cheeks as you would blush.
Step 8: Curl lashes and apply mascara.
Step 9: Apply your lipliner to entire lip to make the lipstick really last! Then add lipstick or gloss in a neutral color so it will wear off naturally throughout the night.
Optional: I chose to wear a messy up-do for this look and then added a feathered headband in a brown shade. I bought this for only $1 at a discount store! You can make your own easily using a few feathers, ribbon, and a jewel! You can also wear any kind of Halloween hair accessory because it will likely compliment the makeup.

For the dramatic look, add these FABULOUS green & orange polka dot feather lashes! (Try saying that sentence 10 times fast, I about put myself into a seizure!) These are from KK Center and are only $3.69. They have tons of other types/shades/varieties but I like the dup colors the best because if I need to I can cut them in half and have 2 for the price of 1! These were sent to me for review awhile back, but I have been waiting to show you guys for Halloween!

You can also pick these up and INSTANTLY have a cool Halloween look.

What do you guys think? Anything you would like to see in particular? Ideas for what YOU will be this year? I'd love to play with some more looks!
XOXOXO
