Mágneses körmök By alanora

Sziasztok!

Régóta izgatták már a fantáziámat a mágneses körömlakkok, de elérhető közelségben csak az Essence darabjai voltak, amiről sok jót sajnos nem olvastam. Épp ezért örültem, amikor a KkcenterHk webshop jóvoltából kipróbálhattam most én is egy ilyen lakkot. Ráadásul itt a mágnesek szettben érkeznek, ami 3 különböző mintát jelent.

A csíkosak a leglátványosabbak, a napocska alakú gyengébben teljesít.

Mennyire vált be nektek?

[SPONSOR] - MAGNETIC NAIL POLISH BY KKCENTERHK by thiswasforever

Mood [Full]
Currently Playing [None]

Today I'm going to be talking about magnetic nail polish because they are the latest trend in nail design at the moment! I think almost ALL the nail polish brands have created some kind of magnetic polishes! And even KKCenterHK have now started to carry some magnetic nail polishes as well! What's really neat about the store is that they even carry a magnetic stamp tool that's especially designed for their nail polishes.

This is what I received from the company. I chose a darker purple color because it's getting closer to Autumn and darker shades are becoming more popular. This is the tool I was talking about earlier. It's a Magnetic Nail Polish Pattern Shaping Magnet. It has 3 pattern in 1 set and it comes with a small frame and bracket. It makes it very easy to adjust the height of the magnet to the shape pattern on the nails. It's really cool because there's enough space between the magnet so it will make sure that your nail will not tough the magnetic. I always find this to be such a problem when I'm using these polishes. So this tool is very useful!

After you have painted a generous coat of nail polish on, it's time to put the nail under the stamp. Here are some tips for working with magnetic polishes:

-I find that you need a larger amount of polish in order for this to work.
-Remember that it will NOT work if your nail polish is dry, so make sure you stamp it BEFORE.
-You should leave it under the magnet for 5-15 seconds to make sure that the pattern will appear.
-Do not use a fast dry top coat because I noticed that the pattern will fade when a top coat is applied
-Do not touch the magnet with magnetic polish.

Here is the final result! Really pretty huh? Make sure to check out the rest of the magnetic nail polishes by KKCenterHK!

Review & NOTD : KKcenterHK Ouqian Peacock Blue Pattern Shaping Magnetic Nail by feminine-art

After the much-popular shattered polish trend came the magnetic polishes. I was delighted when I was contacted by KKcenterHK to try one of the magnetic polishes from their latest range. I picked OUQIAN Peacock Blue Pattern Shaping Magnetic Nail (Shade# 19) which costs $10.22.

I was impressed by the packaging because even the nail polish came so securely packed.

The magnetic polish needs a magnet. Some polishes come with a magnet inside. Ouqian magnetic polish requires you to purchase a separate magnet. I was sent N.NAIL Magnetic Nail Polish Pattern Shaping Magnet which is a 3 in 1 magnet costing $13.84. This is the only website I have seen so far that has a 3 in 1 magnet which I think, if you can spend some extra bucks, is way cooler than the plain magnet that you get complimentary.
The best part is the convenience this magnet provides you with. You just need to adjust the distance for the magnet and insert your finger inside. The magnet is very strong and unlike other magnetic polishes that I have seen and heard about, the patterned effect on your nail is instant within a 15s time slot. Magical, right?
You also get to play with three different patterns: diagonal lines, straight lines or a star shaped pattern. The star shaped pattern unfortunately does not come out as crisp as the lines.
Learning to use magnetic polishes does not require as much practice as stamping or shattered polishes. But make sure that you keep a little distance between your nail and the magnet because if you hold too close you may mess up your polish. I have only used one coat for each nail. Below is a close up of my thumb (in flash):
I am wow-ed with how this magnetic polish worked out. The royal blue shade is pretty amazing and I love how the shimmer effect in it stands out in light. Right now I am really bent on trying more colours from their magnetic polish range.
Do you like magnetic polishes? Or you prefer the classy yet simple single-toned nails?

NOTD: Blue Magnetic Nail Polish by questjen

Hiiii, have you heard of the fairly new 'magnetic nail polish' craze? No? I hadn't either... until I received one from KKCenterHK and read numerous reviews online. I have seen them on a counter in a store but I had no idea how they'd work... and I was never that curious. Are you curious? Let me show you what it is:

Here we have:
~ 1 magnetic nail polish
~ 1 set of magnetic pattern shapers
This nail polish has magnetic properties to allow for patterns to be made with a magnet

I applied it as nail polish first just to see the quality of the formula and whether or not it would be suitable to wear on its own. I must say that it is a very 'pigmented' nail polish! One coat typically looks like three coats of regular nail polish. See for yourself - you wouldn't think that it was just one coat!

 Amazing isn't it?

But I do have some bad news... it chips badly! It's funny how most nail polishes have this pro and con, like with this one the pro is that it is opaque but doesn't last long, boo! And with really sheer nail polishes they tend to last long but the con is that they require 2-3 coats which is time consuming and rather wasteful. The only brands of nail polishes that I can think of which last long and are opaque are China Glaze, Essie and OPI.

Would I recommend or use this as a nail polish on its own? No!
Considering the fact that it is worth $12.24 USD, there are cheaper nail polishes which can last longer and ones around the same price so I reckon it's not worth using this as a nail polish. Perhaps its magnetising properties affects the way the nail polish's staying power, hmm.

BUT of course I recommend this as a nail polish to use for magnet patterns xD

Now to move on with the magnet and how well it works on this nail polish!

It's so simple to make patterns like these with the magnets!
This was my first attempt so please excuse the messiness

$13.84 USD

The set comes with 3 different patterns

Above is a picture demonstration of how to use the magnet pattern shaper. First you put a coat of the magnetic nail polish on and before it dries, you stick your fingernail under the template for 5-15 seconds and the pattern will appear :) Really quick and simple, I like it!

Depending on whether you have the magnet horizontally or vertically, the pattern slightly differs. I'll explain under the next picture:

L-R
Horizontally, aka the 'correct' way to use: 1, 4, 5
Vertically: 2, 3

The ones where I used the magnet horizontally made the patterns more prominent with 'darker' shades, which I can assume is where the magnet was attracted to the most.

My favourite pattern is definitely the first one on the left because it looks the most detailed compared the horizontal/vertical/diagonal stripes. Unfortunately I haven't had the chance to apply this nail polish AND have the pattern on due to me working at a place that doesn't allow me to wear any nail polish :(

Thanks KKCenterHK for allowing me to review such a cool nail polish! I like this more than those crackle ones that I used to be really intrigued about. Magnet patterns are much quicker to achieve and I reckon they look awesome :D

Questjen of the week:

Have you heard of magnetic nail polish before?

This is probably one of the shortest posts I have done in a long time! It's because I'm back at uni now which has made me incredibly busy. I'll still go along with the 'one post a week' thing. A bit overdue with this one sorry D;

Jen

Ouqian Magnetic polish by nailderellanails

Hello!!

How do you feel about magnetic polishes?
The first one I tried was an Essence polish from their LE called "Metallics". I thought the concept was interesting but unfortuntaley, the effect was not so strong. So I'm glad to show you today, another brand that carries magnetic polishes and that have a much stronger effect! This is an Ouqian polish, a Chinese brand, and the name of the polish is OUQIAN-MGT-013, Olive Magic Pattern Shaping Magnetic Nail Polish.

In the following pictures, for the pinky and ringer, I used 2 coats of magnetic polish, while on the middle and index, I used only 1 coat of polish. When I used 2 coats, I first painted  all my nails, then did the second coat on one finger, held the magnet over it for about 10 seconds, and then went to the second nail, and so on.

I used a magnet I got from KKCenterHK, which has 3 different patterns: diagonal lines, horizontal lines, and a star pattern.

Here are more pictures of the different patterns you can have with this magnet.

On the pinky, I didn't use the magnet.

Final verdict: I am so impressed with this polish and with the magnet! The polish is an olive green color, with red-orange flakes. It's quite opaque because you can only use one coat of polish to have a nice look. The magnet is amazing because it can create really stong effects. At the beginning I held the magnetic over the nail for 30 seconds but then reallized that the pattern is created in only 5 seconds! So the magnet is really stong! That's a total plus! Moreover, it's really convenient to use because you can beforehand decide on the distance you'll leave between your nail and the magnet (cf picture of the magnet). There is nearly no risk you'll touch the magnet with your nails. I so love this polish and magnet that now I want to order another one. I've got my eyes on the dark red, purple, and peacock blue polish... :D

Purchase info
OUQIAN-MGT-013, Olive Magic Pattern Shaping Magnetic Nail Polish can be purchased from KKCenterHK. You can find this item here on their site. It costs $12 for 12 mL. The magnet has to be purchased separately. You can also purchase it from KKCenterHK. You can find this item here on their site. It costs $13.
KKCenterHK ship internationally. They have great nail art products and polishes.

Coupon code (10% off): nailderellanails (until 31st Jan, 2013).

It's shimmery khaki colored nail polish which also can be used without any magnetic effects. The consistency of OUQIAN magnetc polishes is slightly thicker than normal nail polish and it dries a  little longer than usual. Application of top coat will not spoil the magnetic effect.

Nail Art Tutorial: I'm in the Galaxy by askmewhats

Good morning everyone!  Ahh Nail Art Tutorial is back!  I didn't stop doing nail art though but my last art was done so intricately but sad to say, no one was taking a photo and I was so engrossed in doing my "sunset" nail art that I didn't bother to take shots!  Don't worry though, given the chance to redo the nail art design and if my dearest photographer is "present" I'll definitely share to everyone!  Promise!

I finally got my KKCENTERHK haul!  It was one unique product that I thought of getting so I can share something unique for nail art lovers out there!

Whew!  Such a long name!
I also got 2 unique X&D Magic Change nail polishes as this pattern shaping magnet won't work with regular nail polishes.
Comes with 3 plates with 3 unique designs

A whole lot of trial and error is definitely needed!  Since our nails are "curved" as compared to a flat surface, results of the "pattern" may vary.  I tried applying one coat of X&D Gray Magic Change Nail Polish and put my hand on the "mold" provided and stick the magnet really close to my fingernail!  Really close but not close to the point of ruining the nail polish!

The effect!  The nail polish magically moves to the "magnet pattern", given this "practice steps", I learned that 2 coats of polish is better than 1!

Since I plan to do something unique yet simple enough for this week's nail art tutorial, here's my Galaxy inspired nails using the new "toy" I got!

Step 1:
Apply 2 coats of Orly Le Chateau Nail Lacquer which I got from HERE.

Step 2:
Making sure the base polish from Orly is completely dry, I applied a line of X&D Gray Magic Change Nail Polish at the center of the nail.  While the magic change nail polish is still wet, immediately stick the magnet really close to the area for 20-30 seconds.

Here's the effect using Diagonal lines plate

Step 3:
The X&D Magic Change polish is quick dry, you can choose to add glittery polish on top to create the "galaxy" effect.  I also call this the "chromosomes" *laughs*

Step 4:
Apply your choice of top coat to protect your design.

 Final effect

Would you go for "gadgets" to create nail art designs?
I used to like the manual labor but I'm quite adventurous in giving gadgets a try! :)

Keep smilin'
Stay happy!

Black Magnetic Nail Polish by mymakeupmania

I'm so sooo exciting about new trend (oh, at least new for me) of magnetic nail polishes. It always looked 3D and unique to me so finally I had a chance to try out some on myself :)
OUQIAN Black magnetic nail polish #007
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Code: OUQIAN-MGT-007
Price: $12.00
Net: 12ml
Available: KKCENTERHK
Image and video hosting by TinyPicImage and video hosting by TinyPic
This nail polish has a little bit of shimmer to it and wearable just by itself without any magnetic effects. Not very black shade tho, it looks more dark grey metallic color. It has regular nail polish brush and quite dense texture. One coat of nail polish looks opaque enough.
It's pretty easy to use: apply one coat of the nail polish wait untill it completely dry. Apply second coat and put the nails under magnet for about 5-15 seconds depending on how dramatic the result desired. For example: my index finger I kept under magnet for about 15 secs and the middle finger something about 5 secs. The longer time under magnets, the more dramatic result will be achieved. The only thing that magnets doesn't included to this nail polishes, it sold separately! I will be doing a review for them too.
To remove them I used just my regular nail polish remover.
TIP: shake before use very-very well because all the metallic pieces settle on the bottom of the nail polish.
