Review: KKcenterHK - Ouqian Magnetic Nail Polish in #002 by nihrida

I must admit I'm not too fond of magnetic nail polishes, but I had to try this one. When Maggie from KKcenterHK contacted me to write a review on their nail polish, I picked this one without much thinking. And it was a good pick. This is Ouqian Magnetic Nail Polish in shade 002.

Ouqian Magnetic Nail Polish 002

Before anyone asks me: I've never heard of Ouqian polishes before and I can't give you any information about the ingredients. I would say these polishes are not big 3 free, but as I can't find the ingredients anywhere, I can't be completely sure. It does have a scent of something that could be toluene, but it doesn't reek of it.

This magnetic polish is easy to apply and it looks kind of frosty and 'blah' when you apply the first layer. I was almost sure I wasn't gonna like it. For the reviewing purposes I added another layer (still didn't liked it) and hold it next to the magnet. I guess some kind of magic happened in that time. The non-magnetic part of the polish became dark purple. And I mean dark. It reminded me of the new China Glaze polish from the Magnetix collection. I think it's called Instant Chemistry. Dark edges and bright lines. That's more like it!
Ouqian Magnetic Nail Polish 002

The Ouqian magnetic polishes don't come with a magnet, so you need to buy it separately. This is the magnet I used with the Ouqian polish - the 3 in 1 magnet set from KKcenterHK. As you can see, it consists of three different magnet patterns, a base where you put your finger and a stand/holder.

Pattern #1 - diagonal lines (third finger from above)
Pattern #2 - horizontal lines (fourth finger from above)
Pattern #3 - Maltese cross (first two fingers from above)
Ouqian Magnetic Nail Polish 002

This magnets work great. Especially the ones with the straight lines. The star one doesn't really create a star shape, it's more in the shape of a maltese cross. I don't like that one too much. It makes lines that are just too random for my liking. Maybe it's because my nails are too small, I don't know. I like the diagonal and horizontal one much better though.

Here's a comparison of 4 different magnetic polishes with the same magnet (the one mentioned above). I compared L'Oreal's Star Magnet in Magnetic Grey, Ouqian magnetic nail polish in 002, 17 Magnetized in Blue and Essence Magnetics in Hex Hex. See how 'right there in your face' Ouqian one is?

You can buy Ouqian magnetic nail polish on KKcenterHK website - HERE, for $12.00. That's also the place where you can buy the 3 in 1 nail polish magnet - HERE, for $13.00.

Magnetic Nail Polish Fun – How it works and how to use? by prettybeautiful

Happy 29th February ladies! ;) Today is a special day because it only comes once in 4 years. So I will share my latest experiment with you on this special day :)
I have read about magnetic nail polish a long time ago, but it was not really readily accessible in our local market.
Until recently, I was thrilled when a set of magnets and magnetic nail polish was sent to me by kkcenterhk.com for review.
Ou Qian Magnetic Polish 1
Magnets can only work with magnetic polish, but not ALL magnets can be used if they are not carved with designs.
Magnets
A set of magnet comes in 3, with star and line designs. I have never heard of OuQian brand before but it doesn’t really matter. The color is really pigmented with just one coat.

How does it work?

magnetic design
The first stamp I tried was the star design. In fact, this design is the most prominent of all.
Apparently, magnetic polish contains tiny iron particles that will be attracted to the magnet and hence forming a pattern.
magnet design
If you color your magnet, you will see the design clearly, and you will suddenly understand how it works exactly. Be sure to wipe it off after fulfilling your curiosity.

How to use the magnet?

how to use the magnetic nail polish
After painting your nail polish, immediately hold the magnet for about 10 seconds as close as to your nail possible, but NOT touching your polish.
You should only work one nail at a time before the polish dries to create the pattern. It works best when it is wet. Once the polish is dry, you will have to use a second coat and rework this.
Magnet stand
Since my stamping sent came with a ‘rack’, I can rest my finger underneath and support it with another finger so that it will not collapse.
I find this way to be easier because your hand might get tired from holding the magnet too long and become shaky. It happened so many times that the magnet touched polish and smudged it, I had to remove and repaint to correct the mistake.
Magnetic polish
My first time using the magnet definitely wasn’t a smooth sailing.
It takes a while to get a hang of creating the pattern, it looks easy but it takes a while to learn. I quite like the idea of magnetic polish because it can create a nice patten effortlessly (when you have practiced enough).
Price: OuQian magnetic nail polish (USD$12), Magnet Set of 3 (USD$13)

Bronze Age by bijinblair

Are you sick of creme, glitter or even crackle finishes? Try magnets! Nails with texture is extremely popular this season and this is one trend that I'll happily immerse myself in.

Ouqian Magnetic Nail Polish 022

Name: Ouqian Magnetic Nail Polish 022
Price: US$ 12.00 for 12 ml

022 is a gorgeous golden bronze. It applies like a dream and two coats are enough to be rid of any translucency. The lasting power is pretty good, I experienced slight wear to the tips the whole time I had it on, which is about five days.

Magnet

Name: Magnet
Price: US$ 13.00

This magnet comes separately. The Ouqian magnetic nail polishes do not come with a magnet, so I had to get this one to try the polish out. Three different patterns are included in this contraption, and the one that I'm most enthusiastic about is the diagonal one which I used in the picture above. It isn't the sturdiest thingamajig in the whole world, but it works pretty well and that is all that matters.

I have to note though that the design is not as faint as pictured (the lighting is too bright) but it doesn't manifest as clearly as seen from China Glaze Magnetix or Nails Inc. Magnetic Polish. I'm uncertain whether this is caused by the magnet (meaning it isn't strong enough) or there's too little iron powder in Ouqian's formulation.

Ouqian Pure Color Nail Lacquer 06

Name: Ouqian Pure Color Nail Lacquer 06
Price: US$ 8.80 for 18 ml

06 is a solid three coater. I expected it to be sheer from the description on kkcenterhk.com but to my surprise it isn't at all. I would have chosen a lighter colour otherwise! That being said, 006 is a lovely chocolate brown colour and the consistency is very nice - it isn't particularly thick nor is it runny. To my delight, it wears very well and doesn't chip whatsoever.

Magnetic nails is somewhat subtle, cool and is easy to achieve too. Will you give it a try?

Magnet Kit For Magnetic Nail Polish by mymakeupmania

To get the amazing effect when using magnetic nail polishes we all must use specially designed magnets. And these special magnets are not included to nail polishes on KKCENTERHK but this kit is sold separately. I was very fortunate and I had a chance to get one of these kits for myself.

Code: JR1111
Price: $13.00
Available: KKCENTERHK

KKCENTERHK web-site says:
"This product use for Pattern Shaping on Magnetic Nail Polish
3 Pattern in one set, with a small frame and bracket,
Convenient to adjust the height of the magnet to shape pattern on nails
The distance between the magnet and nail could not exceed 5mm,
Put your nails with magnetic nail polish under the magnet for 5-15 seconds,
It could not be shaped after nail polish is dried,
Do not touch the magnet with magnetic materials,
And bank cards, credit cards could easily lead to magnetic degaussing."

Anastacia's experience: This kit includes 3 different magnets and special holder for one finger. But I personally don't like it because the main "foundation" is unstable and falls every time. On each of the magnets has a personalpicture of the magnetic image. My favourite pattern is diagonal lines because I have noticed it gives more noticeableresult. Also I'm not sure if this magnet kit will be work for other magnetic nail polish brands because I have only OUQIAN.

The experiment with turning the magnet in the opposite direction turned out unsuccessful. And it's clearly seen on my middle finger. I tried to turn the magnet with a horizontal line at 90 degrees and achieve vertical lines pattern but the desired result wasn't  achieved.

I'm so excitied to have this magnet kit. It gives such unique nail design in seconds.
Here is my 2 cents in a large piggy bank but the most important thing that everyone can make a personal consequences for themselves on how much need this accessory or not.

Dark Cyan Magnetic Nail Polish by mymakeupmania

This is my last pre-made blog-post. Right now I'm still wearing EROS nails. Recently it's absolute lack of free time, lifegoes on I guess LOL~ And think after tomorrow it'll be much better. We have only two events to come and I will be ableto return to the previous regime. ThanQ to all my new followers and for all the amazing comments!
***
I have another magnetic nail polish from KKCENTERHK and it's dark/cyan blue in #016, really a beautiful color. I truly do like this shade by itself. And it can be worn without any magnet shaping as well. Quite opaque texture, usual normal brush, dries longer than basic nail polishes and has a bit heavy odor.
I applied first layer of nail polish and waited untill it completely dry. I then applied another layer and placed it under the magnet for about 5 seconds. And I've noticed that the magnetic effect with all magnets isn't clearly visible as it is onblack nail polish. This magnet with diagonal lines can be seen best therefore, only this picture showing off today. Also the magnets are not included to magnetic nail polishes. It available separately, look [HERE].
