* klej nie jest dołączony

błyszczyk NARS w kolorze angelika

Wolicie kombinować z wymyślnym makijażem czy jednak poszukać interesujących rzęsisk ;)?
Ja pewnie będę siedzieć w domu z moim wiernym towarzyszem durnych zabaw, czyli z Bąblem.

Sleek, Chic, & Street-Smart: The City-Kitty by maryammaquillage

Bonjour mes amis! It's official, fall is here and I'm eager to dress up in rich colors, cozy fabrics, luxurious scarves and tough leather! My association with fall is a depiction of me rushing to the subway to get to class, with bitter NY wind slapping my face, and my grande mocha soothing my nerves as I scramble to find my metro card. It's a story most New Yorkers are familiar with and one I am happy to leave behind! This year, I'm celebrating not having to rush to class, and I'm also excited to change up the look of my autumn makeup from school appropriate to party ready!
Today's makeup is dark, shimmery and demure -- perfect for nighttime and fit for a City-Kitty! I'm a huge fan of darker makeup, it always makes me feel like a chic, sleek, powerful heroine in an awesome thriller, and I'm excited to tell you all about it :)) P. S. This look can be achieved in under $30 -- those are some serious savings that any street-smart city chick can appreciate!

Read more for info, deets, tips & how-to!

I'm talking about: Prestige Cosmetics
Established over 30 years ago, Prestige Cosmetics is sold and recognized in over 46 countries in stores such as Duane Reade, Rite Aid, ULTA and Navarro’s in addition to a large online presence. Prestige offers high quality makeup at drug-store prices and a wide range of products covering all your cosmetic needs. Whether you are looking for hydrating lipsticks, long lasting liquid eyeliners or face and eye primers, Prestige has it all.

In my school days, I've often turned to Prestige for lip liners and eye liners -- the products were always available at my corner Duane Reade and were ridiculously affordable, even for a student! Of course, I always appreciated and still am impressed by the quality and range of the products, that's why I am very excited to feature this brand on my blog. I can easily vouch for Prestige makeup -- it is simply great!
On to the Maquillage!
This "Prestigious" makeup look was completed using:

TOTAL: $29.14

  • INCLUDES:
    • Primed & Ready Unbudgable Eye Primer
    • Mini Eyeliner Pencil in Black
  • EYESHADOWS: (names added in Photoshop)
    • First Class -- ultra sparkly pink champagne (used as the brow highlight)
    • Majestic -- ultra sparkly eggplant purple (used on the inner lid)
    • Royalty -- ultra sparkly turquoise (used on the center lid)
    • Jetsetter -- shimmery dark teal (used on the outer lid)
    • Five Star -- ultra sparkly silver / white (used on the inner corner)
    • V.I.P. -- shimmery gunmetal / blue duochrome (used on the wing)
  • DESCRIPTION: This palette includes 6 vibrant shades of varying degrees of sparkly and shimmery finishes. The colors are highly pigmented, opaque, and consistent. Shimmery shades are slightly more dense, while the sparkly shades offer more of a glittery effect. The primed & ready primer goes on smooth with a cooling effect and dries slightly tacky, which is the perfect formula for sparkly eye shadows. The Black mini eyeliner is soft, creamy and ultra dark.
  • VERDICT: The Indulge Me palette is absolutely perfect and I couldn't be more pleased. The color collection is rich and dazzling with 6 complementary shades that can be worn together or alone. The primer works great, while the mini eyeliner is super smooth and perfect for smoldering looks. I've been testing out this palette for about a week and I literally have no complains. The palette is made of a soft cardboard foam and is the exact size of the Deluxe Shadow Box Palette by Urban Decay (though the colors are completely different). The Indulge Me Palette is perfect for travel and is officially my go-to eye collection for parties and nighttime!
  • Eye makeup this shimmery and opaque is almost impossible to achieve without a colorful sticky base, but these shadows just don't need it -- I am extremely impressed!!

CITY KITTY EYES HOW-TO:
  1. Prime your lids with Prestige Primed & Ready primer and allow a few seconds for it to set.
  2. Using a flat shader brush and patting motions, apply your eyeshadow starting with the inner part of the lid and working towards the outer portion: Majestic, Royalty, Jetsetter, respectively. TIP: Clean off the brush between colors and layer the shadows to blend the transitions, while keeping the shape parallel to your top lash line.
  3. Extend the outer corner wing with the mini eyeliner pencil and draw a cat eye shape to connect with the top edge of the shadows.
  4. Fill in the cat eye wing with VIP and blend the transition. Line the lower lash line with the edge of the shader brush.
  5. Highlight and extend the inner corner using Five Star and add a highlight under the brow arch using First Class.
  6. Rim the waterline with Masquerade pencil liner and line the inner two thirds of the lower lash line with Big Teal liquid liner.
  7. Apply your falsies and Voila!
Complete this night-lovin' City Kitty look with badass studded lashes!
  • Product: Elise Decorated False Eyelashes With Black Sparkle Studs item # 235
  • Purchase: kkcenterhk.com
  • 10% OFF Coupon: MARYAM
  • Price: $4.50
  • These lashes are subtle, yet effective, giving this look an additional dose of edge, without competing with the eye shadows. The reflective studs play up the eyeshadow, while the thicker band of the lashes is a great substitute for eyeliner (since I'm not wearing any). These lashes are lightweight and easy to wear.
The following photos were taken with Photobooth in an effort to showcase the true wow-factor of the Indulge Me Palette eye shadows. Just look at all that sparkle!!! Even with natural lighting and no flash, these photos don't have the same effect as in real life. Again, I am so in love with this palette!

In the White of the Night by maryammaquillage

Salut mes amis! The month of October just keeps getting better and it's time to reveal another surprise!! My favorite indie makeup brand Lime Crime just came out with two brand new uniliners and sent me a pair to paint and play with!! Today's look is White Nights-inspired featuring Lime Crime's newest addition to the uniliner collection: Rhyme and Reason. I'll let these babies speak for themselves :))

Read more for pix-n-deets
I'm truly excited to be one of the first bloggers to try these gorgeous liners, especially since I've been on the hunt for great quality silver and gold liners for quite some time. I envisioned doing a bold, yet wearable "White Nights" look for a casual Halloween office party, but since I was unable to find the pigmentation I was looking for, I was about to toss the idea... then suddenly, these stunners arrived in my mailbox! Talk about makeup synchronicity :))
On to the Maquillage!
 EYES:

LIPS: Lime Crime Carousel Gloss in Golden Ticket

SKIN: Missha M Perfect Cover BB Cream #31
My Inspiration: White Nights
The photos below are from my personal collection and were taken during the White Nights in St. Petersburg, Russia. White nights is the name given in areas of high latitude to the weeks around the summer solstice in June during which sunsets are late, sunrises are early and darkness is never complete. In Saint Petersburg, the Sun does not set until after 10 pm, and the state of twilight lasts all night.
I was lucky to be born in St. Petersburg (then Leningrad) and though I'm quite used to the White Nights, most tourists are completely fascinated with it, as was my boyfriend Lee Lee when he visited. He is clearly psyched out in the photo above, which was taken around 2 am. During the White Nights, St. Petersburg is at its most beautiful state. Not only is everyone up and about, but they are also celebrating, which makes the city's atmosphere very joyous, festive and romantic.
I wanted to capture the celebratory spirit of the White Nights in my makeup look, and this is what I came up with: twilight sky, shimmery lights and stars to indicate night time.

White Nights Eyes How-To:
  1. Prime the lids and allow a few seconds for the primer to set.
  2. Use a neutral or white pencil liner to outline your crease (or where you want the shadows to start) -- the so-called cut crease.
  3. Using a small flat shader brush, pat on a matte sky blue shadow (Parasol) directly to the outline and above.
  4. Using the same brush and a matte lavender shadow (Ribbonesque) blend the transition of the sky blue by patting on the color to begin the sunset gradient. Use the same technique with a matte pink shadow (Royal Flush) to complete the gradient.
  5. Add a shimmery sea foam green shadow (Atlanteal) to the center of the lid and a bit of the shimmery blue (Nautilus Prime) to the lower lash line.
  6. Stack the liquid liners on the movable lid starting with the bright blue on the crease, then the metallics (any order) and finish with the black to give your eye some definition.
  7. Optional: Add stars, shooting stars and dots to create your twilight sky. Create a gilded brow but swiping a few gold and silver strokes in the direction of hair growth. Finish the look with funky false lashes.
To complete this White Nights-inspired eye look, I added star studded rhinestone half lashes.
What will Lime Crime come up with next?! Who's ready for the Alchemy collection?

bisous,

Maryam Maquillage

Back to the Splash! by maryammaquillage

::Splish Splash:: is "Hello" in Mermaid!! Today's aquatic creation was inspired by 80's mermaids -- think mermaid in the city aka Daryl Hannah in Splash. This look is slightly dramatic, but nothing over the top, and can easily be toned down or worn as is on a fun summer night. P. S. I'll give you another chance to guess my eye palette :))

Read more for pix & deets

Who doesn't love Splash?
(images borrowed from Google)

How I wish I could go back in time and live through the 1980's as an adult!! I love everything about the 80's; from the music to the HAIR to the makeup to the crazy fashion. Alas, I'm a Millennial kid and can only relive my favorite era vicariously through my hair and makeup, so, with today's look, I'm paying homage to Splash and going forward to the past!

To help me get in character, I'm using...

  • Nautilus Prime (described as blurple) -- Bright, highly pigmented blue with warm undertones
  • Coral of the Story (described as true coral) -- Rich, pigmented coral with orange undertones
  • Seahorse Discourse (described as tropical green) -- Bright, pigmented lime green with gold undertones
  • Pearl-ple (described as pearlescent lilac) -- Pearly, highly pigmented rich lavender with silver undertones
  • Atlanteal (described as seafoam blue/green) -- Bright, pigmented teal with cool silver undertones

All shades have a metallic shimmery finish with loads of sparkle, but never any fallout. This palette is my favorite of the Lime Crime palettes. I adore LC's previous (mostly) matte palettes, but this 100% shimmery collection is just magical. I'm drawn to every color -- they are just as stand-out and beautiful when worn alone as they are in combination with one another. There are tons of eye makeup possibilities with Aquataenia and that's why I'm officially claiming it as my #1 summer palette!

Remember this look?
I used all the five shadows in the Aquataenia palette and lightly dusted them onto my lids. No other products were used underneath to enhance the colors, just LC's eyeshadow primer. My liners are Quill (black) and Orchidaceous (purple), also by Lime Crime.

Aqua Eyes Du Jour:

Shimmery Eyeshadow Tips and Tricks:
  • Always use a good primer underneath. Shimmery eye shadows tend to highlight the texture of the skin, and a prepped "canvas" will result in a smoother finish. Just like in art!
  • For extra pigmentation and opacity, apply matching color bases under the shadows to help them adhere better. I like to use NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils
  • Apply the shadows using patting motions, never use swiping strokes. Blend them by layering.
  • Unless you're going for a mermaid look, make sure to add a few neutral matte shades in the crease and in the outer corner. You've heard this before, and I'll say it again, you don't want to look like a disco ball... unless of course you want to.
  • Balance your sparkly look with dark eyeliner and falsies, the sharpness of the two will pull the look together.

On my eyes, I'm wearing:
  1. Lime Crime Aquataenia Palette
  2. Lime Crime Eyeshadow Helper
  3. Lime Crime Uniliners in:
  4. Elise Faux Lashes with Silver Tip Rhinestones #869
  5. Born Pretty Store 12 Colors 3mm Glitter Rhinestones
How-to create 80's style naturally crimped mermaid hair:
  1. Simply wash your hair and braid it while it's still damp. See my previous post for pix (I corn-rowed the top and box braided the bottom)
  2. Blow dry or use a flat iron to go over each braid... or just sleep on it (my choice)
  3. Unbraid the hair and VOILA!

Don't forget the Sparkly Mermaid Lippies:

LeeLee thought this image was badass, so I'm leaving you with it :)) What do you think, am I mermaid material? Will you be creating your own Summer "Splash" moment?

Review: KKCenterhk Elise #154 Lashes by darksideofbeauty

Hello!

Before I get into the review, I just wanted to give you guys a little update. I am technically done with my finals, but I have to write one final term paper that is due next week. I should be back to my daily blogging after I finish that :) I am very much looking forward to having nothing to do this summer xD Just kidding, I have a lot of stuff to do! Mainly going to Warped Tour this month in San Francisco~ Woot! But anyways, I digress. To the lashes!

The Elise #154 lashes are these lashes with thin gold-threaded fabric. They are really cool! I have never owned any lashes like these!

Price and Availability

$5.05 for one pair on the KKCenterhk website.

Review

I don't know what it is about the design of these lashes, but I just think they look so cool! They aren't the most wearable lashes, but they are great for a dramatic or costume look. The lashes are not very heavy, and I think they are light enough to wear for a long period of time. The fabric of the lashes is veeeeery thin, and they seem like they are very easy to rip but I was very careful when I applied them.
I would recommend these for a costume or a very dramatic lash look, especially because I only got 3 uses of these before I accidentally ripped the fabric on one of the lashes; therefore they are not very practical.

Rating: 8/10

Review: KKCenterhk Elise 235 Lashes by darksideofbeauty

Greetings from the Dark Side! ^_^

Today I have a review for the Elise #235 lashes which were provided by KKCenterhk.

Price and Availability

These are available on the KKCenterhk website. They are $4.50 for the one pair.
You can use the coupon "yamismakeup" for 10% off your order.
(And for May there is an auto discount of 25% off~)

Review

I was really excited for these lashes because I have always wanted a pair like these. They are black with small black gems. I don't want to beat around the bush, so basically I hate these. They look pretty and promising, but once they are on, they are very disappointing unfortunately. They apply easily which is good, but the band was a little flimsy and it tended to not want to stay put right on the lash line. They are also much too short and they blend in too much with my natural lashes. Because they are short, you can hardly see the gems on the lashes. And because they blend in, it is even harder to see the pretty black gems. I even feel that the black gems look messy once they are on the lash line. Another bad thing is that even after the first use, the black gems started to come off. By the second use, most of the gems fell out. That makes me a sad panda :(
I do not recommend these at all. If they were longer, and the lashes were better made, then I think these would be so much better.

Lashes in Action!

1st use:

2nd use:

Verdict

They are pretty in the box, but once they are applied, they are nothing special. I really did not like anything about these. The only nice thing was the packaging the lashes came in. :O

Rating: 2/10
