Marilyn Monroe Decals By legallynailed

And i'm back again after a short hiatus! ^^ Hurrah! I've recently got a whole bunch of nail art stuff to review so look forward to seeing more posts from me! I'll kick them off with this one fromKKCenterHK. I chose these pretty Marilyn Monroe decals to add some class and sass to my nails.

The decal sheet comes with a whole bunch of images, enough for multiple uses for all 10 nails! Here are some of the images are used on my left and right nails.

Water decals are kinda like those temporary body tattoos but the application is slightly different. You choose which design you want to apply, cut it out and the soak it in water for a bit. After a while, the image will slide off the paper sheet and you stick it on your nail like a sticker. You can't put it face down on your nail like a temporary tattoo or you'll end up getting the image back to front!

I used Sinful Colors Easy Going as my base colour, that my sister for back from Hong Kong for me. To complement the decals, I used this Moustache/Hot Lips stamping plate (also from KKCenterHK and a full review coming soon!) as an accent on my index finger. The red polish I used is Covet London Confidence. Then on my middle finger, I did a glitter gradient with some gold craft glitter. Unfortunately, I never tested the glitter before with nail polish, so I didn't know this particular glitter would bleed once I put on my topcoat :/ A perfectly good manicure ruined! Lesson learnt: Always test your glitter before applying it to your nail! I also used Essence Make It Golden on some of the bare spots to give it more sparkle!

The decals, like temporary tattoos, are NOT reusable. But the sheet has plenty of decals for multiple uses!

That's it for now and remember to use the code "LNAILED" for a 10% discount at KKCenterHK.

Textured Audrey Hepburn Nails & Life Update?! By lalobana

I told you all I would be back with another nail art post, didn’t I?!
I was originally going to post this tomorrow since it would be officially “Manicure Monday” but it’s my first day of school tomorrow and I know I’ll be overwhelmed since I am starting fresh at a new university! Yes, you guys read that right. The last time I spoke about school, I was enrolled at Ryerson University’s school of Journalism. I don’t want to bore you all with details but the program just isn’t what I assumed it to be, nor did I enjoy it. I am grateful for being one of the few to be accepted to this “competitive” program – however, it didn’t meet up to my standards. I found it to be non creative and a huge waste of my money. Essentially at the end of the day, I found myself on style.com every single day in class asking myself why I’m not out and about getting farther in my career – focusing on the entertainment and fashion industries as those are what I wish to enter. Instead, I was out on the streets of Toronto writing stories about politics, murder trials and small fairs happening in the city.
I literally questioned myself everyday and said “Why am I even here? I don’t want to write about politics or anything related to news journalism. I want to be in fashion and entertainment!”. I know that in first year, you have to learn the basics but I knew thanks to speaking to past graduates and upper year students, that you stick with news reporting until graduation, and I personally just can’t handle that when I know I’m meant to be reporting within the fashion and entertainment industries. And to be 100% honest with you guys, I had a feeling before I started school last year that I wasn’t going to enjoy the program. I should have listened to myself and gone for the other offers I received but I pushed myself to take Ryerson’s because of the name and how it’s apparently the best j-school in Canada. I personally think Canada doesn’t have a whole lot to offer when it comes to Journalism (honestly speaking our industry is beyond weak!).
In the beginning of the year, before I started school, I told myself I wasn’t going to settle for less and that it’s time for me to take charge and make decisions that’ll get me farther ahead. Staying at Ryerson would a) get me behind on my goals and b) make me HATE journalism by the end of the four years – yes, it was that dreadful for me that I would have no interest in the field afterwards.
Long story short, I am STILL in a Journalism program – but it’s much more flexible. So don’t fret, I’m still aspiring to accomplish that dream of being a fashion and entertainment journalist – this route will just allow me to accomplish more while in school as well.
ON TO THE NAILS…

I received Audrey Hepburn water decals from KKCenterHK on top of China Glaze’s texture nail polish – I believe the shade is called “Of Coarse”. I actually love how it looks on the nails. It’s a rustic type look.
Like any other water decals, they are super easy to apply. This look took me 10 minutes in total. It probably would have taken less, but I included the amount of time it took for the nail polish to dry. This one in particular takes longer to dry compared to my other polishes. Maybe it’s because it’s textured? Who knows!
Anywho, now you guys are fully updated on my situation with school. I was a bit nervous to tell people when I first left the program because everyone around me said “Oh my god, you’re in such a competitive program. Good for you!!” – for a while I felt like I disappointed myself and everyone around me. But I got over that quickly because I’m determined to have all my goals and dreams accomplished and I’m a hard worker who makes things happen. I’m confident in myself when it comes to my career choices / education choices and I know I truly did the best thing!

Nails & Review: 'Cause this is thriller, thriller night by justtisems

Normally I would title this as review and the product name but I just could not help it!  In my package from KKCenterHk, they included some water nail decals featuring Michael Jackson (Water Decals Nail Art Decoration Michael Jackson [WDBLE431])!  He was and still is truly a great inspiration for the music industry!   As I was opening up my package, my son (Xan) came over and started snooping around.  He always does that and gets excited to see what I get.  He quickly spotted the Michael Jackson water decals, and goes "You have to put these on now!"  Oh did I forget to mention to you, he loves listening to Michael Jackson!

The one on my thumb was Xan's favorite image out of the five images that are on the sheets.  I have to agree with him!
Michael Jackson Water Decals

On one sheet there are a total of twenty decals, four times each image.  They are decent size where you still have room to do some art on the side or underneath it.
I wanted to keep it simple when I used this and only added the "MJ <3" on to it with acrylic paint.  My base colors are OPI Stranger Tides, and Sinful Colors Adventure Island.

My only issue with these was that the printing of the name.  Some of them had "Michae" instead of "Michael" printed on it.  Cut offs happen, but it doesn't bother me.  The images still look good, and you could always cut the words off.  Other than that these were perfect for their price.

The sheets go for $2.82 a piece, and do not forget to use my 10% off discount code!  I find that its a good price considering how much the other water decals I have seen from other companies or shops.  I actually like the usage of water decals now!  Super easy to use and not to mention there are a lot of different designs you could find on their site.  But please remember prices may vary upon the water decal you pick from their site.

As I end this post I would like to leave you with my son's favorite song from Michael Jackson and not to mention perfect timing since Halloween is just around the corner:

What is your favorite song from Michael Jackson?  Have you used water decals before?  Where do you buy yours at?

Thank you for checking out my blog!  Hope you have a wonderful day!

Älyttömän pitkä odotus päättyy huomenna by lepikossakuhisee

Nimettömän sydämessä on käytetty Michael Jackson Water decalseja, nämä olen saanut KkCenterHk:lta testattavaksi. Kuten huomaa niin onhan nämä olleetkin jo kovassa käytössä :)

No mitäs piditte kynsistä? Ovatko liian sekavat? Yritin väreillä vähän saada sirkusmaista tunnelmaan mukaan...

NOTD: Congrats Obama on a 2nd Term! by hiiyooitscat

Happy Veterans Day!!!   Elections are over! and the winner is............ psh don't act like you don't know!  It is Barack Obama!  Congratulations on a 2nd term.  I hope that these next four years do show a difference and do help everyone a bit.  We seriously need more classes at school and more jobs for people.  So to celebrate I decided to finally use my Obama nail water decals!  Read on for my how to and more photos!

So I actually received these a while ago from www.kkcenterhk.com and wanted to use them for a special occasion.  My original thought was to use them during election process to show my support if I decided to vote for him.  However, I was not keeping up with any debates or anything so I did not want to vote on that aspect (I did vote on props though).  Now that he officially won, why not celebrate by putting his face on my nails =)

This was the first time using water decals and ooh wee they are so simple to use. I made a how to for you guys.

It comes in a small sheet and you just cut what you want on your nail place in water and tada!

http://www.kkcenterhk.com/p5000/N.NAIL-Water-Decals-Nail-Art-Barack-Obama/USA-Flags-WDBLE430/product_info.html

How to:

-I used a multiple tea light candle holder, so I just put one into each.

The Look:
The image is in black and white so I figured it would look great over a grey polish (OPI-"Sheer" your toys!)  I also used Obama water decals (Item #: WDBLE430).  They look to be sold out at the moment.  I guess a lot of people wanted to show their support before, during and after the election.  I am sure they will get more in stock soon if it is requested =)

Thoughts?:

I love the water decals.  I received 3 other designs that I cannot wait to use, they are lovely.  I will be purchasing more because they are quite inexpensive and really easy to use.  Water decals are non-sticky and are really thin, so you don't feel it's surface when you touch your nails.

I was given a code for my readers to receive 10% your purchase! Be sure to use code "hiiyooitscat".  Discount code ends on January 31st, 2013

I hope you guys enjoyed my nails this week!  I know I have been doing a lot of sponsored reviews lately but I am doing individual posts for each item in my influenster box and I am quite behind on reviewing products that were sent to me. I am currently waiting on products I purchased from eBay as well as ELF (their best sellers and new products) to review.  I am also updating on my skin from using acne.org.  Stay tuned for all the good stuff!

Disclaimer: Sample products were sent to me for product review by the kindness of the company, I am not getting paid for my review.. as always everything is my honest opinion.
