 Today I have a manicure to share with you inspired by the pretty blue bird nail art decoration sent to me by KKCenterHK. I'm also going to lump this manicure in with the untried challenge I'm slowly tackling.

Here are the pretty nail art decorations I chose to review. I love them. The detail is perfect and are exactly like they are pictured on the website.

Taking the nail art out of the package and observing the white paper backing, I thought these decorations might be self adhesive. Scratching a little at the back I pulled off some of the bird pattern of one, and quickly discovered they are not self adhesive. Luckily the small scratch was hidden by my white base polish.

I knew right away I wanted to use this nail decoration for my accent nail. I looked over my blues and thought the gorgeous Cerulean by LVX would be a perfect pairing! Cerulean just happened to be an untried, and qualified as a "cool" color, which made this manicure a double win for me. To jazz it up a little I used stripping tape along with my go to Snow Me White from Sinful Colors to do stripes with Cerulean. I really like the way this came out.

From above I LOVE the nail art decoration. But from the side, this manicure makes me sad. Its such a huge oval bubble on my nail that I played with it constantly, until I just popped it off. As pretty as these oval nail decorations are, for me they are just too big to be used in my nail art. However, I plan on keeping these adorable nail decorations and applying them to something else. (I'm just not sure what)

Victorian Cameo Mani By gnarlygnails

Today I've got a cute little decorative piece to show you. When I first saw these adorable little cameo-esque nail decorations from KKCenterHK, I knew I had to try them out!  They completely reminded me of some little victorian jewelry! Let's see what they're all about!

For this mani, I'm using Color Club Nomadic in Nude and Sally Hansen Olive Branch.

For the ring accent I simply dotted some dots in nude to make a sort of pendant to visually hold the cameo. For all of the other nails I used some round studs I got from Born Pretty Store.

The cameo itself is made of a hard plastic, it does not bend and therefore it does stick up off of your nail a good deal. I found these to be cool for photo purposes, but for everyday wear I don't think you'd want to deal with how easily they could come off your nail. They are definitely more of a novelty item, but awesome all the same!

"PORCELANOWA" OZDOBA 3D By lakierownia

Kojarzycie starą angielską porcelanę z niebieskimi motywami? Mnie się ona niesamowicie podoba i wydaje mi się, że już takiej nie robią... W każdym razie to była moja pierwsza myśl, kiedy zobaczyłam ozdobę BLUESEA-VA03E na stronie KKCenterHk. Dzięki uprzejmości tego sklepu dostałam ten produkt za darmo.

Po pierwsze muszę napisać, że mile zaskoczyło mnie samo opakowanie. Byłam przekonana, że dostanę ozdoby wciśnięte w jakiś woreczek strunowy. Ku mojej radości zostały ładnie wyeksponowane w błyszczącej folii na tle uroczego, różowego kartonika firmy Bluesea. Wiem, że dla niektórych to może być szczegół, ale ja zwracam dużą uwagę na opakowania. Drugim warunkiem jest jakość wykonania i tu kolejne miłe zaskoczenie - wzór na obu ozdobach jest idealny. Żadnych zacieków, czy innych niedociągnięć. Jestem pod wrażeniem.

Prawdę mówiąc sklep dał mi możliwość wyboru, spośród wielu produktów Bluesea (pozostałe możecie zobaczyć TUTAJ), ale ta biało-niebieska niby-porcelana od razu złapała mnie za serce. Jest w niej coś nostalgicznego. Mimo, że wzór został utrzymany w stonowanej kolorystyce i ma oszczędną formę owalu, robi duże wrażenie.

Nie miałam najmniejszego problemu z dopasowaniem zdobienia pozostałych paznokci. Zanim jeszcze przyszła do mnie paczka, wiedziałam dokładnie jakich lakierów użyję. Biały to Delia No. 1 nr 5, a niebieski Miyo Mini Drops w kolorze Provocation. Byłam też zdecydowana na kropki obramujące każdy paznokieć, ponieważ nawiązują do wzoru na ozdobie Bluesea. Do zrobienia białych kropek użyłam lakieru do stempli Essence Stamp Me! White, ponieważ lakier Delia nie kryje wystarczająco dobrze. Samą ozdobę przykleiłam na Sally Hansen Double Duty. Ten top coat już mi się kończył i był bardzo gęsty, więc idealny do klejenia. Na koniec paznokcie pomalowałam jedną warstwą Inglot Diamond Top Coat. 

Efekt jest fantastyczny. Przy minimum wysiłku i umiejętności można sobie zafundować niepowtarzalne paznokcie. Nie jest to co prawda raczej propozycja na co dzień, ale na wielkie wyjście jak najbardziej. Sam wzór kojarzy się też trochę z folklorem, prawda?

Na stronie sklepu jest informacja, że ozdoby można używać zarówno na naturalnych, jak i sztucznych paznokciach. Polecają również przyklejenie jej klejem do paznokci. Ja też polecam klej, chociaż sama użyłam gęstego top coatu. Nie zależało mi na trwałości, bo przeznaczyłam to zdobienie na jeden wieczór. Oczywiście używając tylko topa, czy lakieru trzeba się bardzo pilnować, żeby przypadkiem nie oderwać ozdoby, bo jest przyklejona do małej powierzchni paznokcia.

Muszę też przyznać, że będąc oszczędną osobą, po ściągnięciu zdobienia, spróbowałam wyczyścić tył ozdoby acetonem z przyklejonego top coata. Jak widzicie na zdjęciu zniszczyłam przez to cały wzór. Z jednej strony żałuję, że nie wzięłam tego pod uwagę, a z drugiej przecież w dalszym ciągu mogę wykorzystać przezroczysty element, tworząc na nim moje własne zdobienie. Na pewno opiszę na blogu, czy da się coś takiego zrobić i jak mi to wyszło.

Jestem bardzo ciekawa Waszej opinii na temat ozdób Bluesea. Jest ładna, czy wyjątkowo niepraktyczna? A może powinnam była wybrać inny wzór? Koniecznie o tym napiszcie. Czekam na komentarze.

The Digit-al Dozen Bling Week day 2 - floral, framed and studded nail art By dressedupnails

Hey loves! It's day 2 of bling week and today I have some nails that aren't sparkly, but I'd definitely still qualify them as blingy.

The day before I did these, I got a package in the mail from KKcenterHK with round studs and these 3D acrylic floral ovals (that sounds weird but I have no idea what to call them!). I really wanted to use them together and I thought they'd be perfect to include with the theme this week.

Originally I wanted to do the floral ovals on my ring fingers and then frame the rest of my nails with round studs, but the package didn't have enough studs in it for me to do that. It had probably 40-50, which I thought was just because it was a sample sent for review, but when I just checked the website the listing was for a package of ~50 studs.


The studs are nice quality and I was surprised by how much I loved the way they look. The only drawback is how small the package is - I mean, I need a lot of studs, okay? I also would have expected a lot more for the price ($4.23), especially considering how many studs/rhinestones come in the packs sold on other websites.

I started with a base of three coats of Maybelline Poolside, which is a beautiful super-light blue that's part of the summer LE collection. I framed my two middle nails using a striper brush and China Glaze Secret Peri-wink-le, and I framed my pointer and pinky by painting the darker blue on top of the lighter blue (sort of like a ruffian) and then adding a French tip. I've never tried that way of framing before, but I definitely prefer it... it's a lot easier and less anxiety-inducing.

I added a layer of clear polish to my middle and pinky fingers and stuck the studs into that while it was still tacky. I used nail glue to attach the acrylic oval to my ring finger. I love the way this looks SO much! The only problem was that 2 came in the package but one was pretty unusable (at least for me)... the top was sort of melted down and cloudy and it probably wouldn't have been noticeable from a difference, but it really bothered me.

See what I mean? The one on the right is the one I used, and the one on the left was the wonky one.

I freehanded the floral design on my pointer finger to echo the acrylic floral. I kind of want to do a whole mani with that design!

I don't know why, but I completely fell in love with these nails and I was pretty sad at the prospect of only being able to wear them for a day. Once the studs started popping off I wasn't as bummed to change them, but I still wish I could have worn them a little longer!

I do really like both the round studs and the 3D acrylic floral ovals that I got from KKcenterHK, but I was disappointed with the quality of the acrylic ovals and I don't really think that a package of this few studs is worth the price.
