Checkered Nails: Manicure using Water Decal Stickers from KKCenterHK by thehappysloths

Hi guys, I hope you are all having a good start to your weekend! Today I have a super cool and modern checkered manicure featuring some water decals from KKCenterHK. This set of water decals comes with 20 pieces of designs, some are meant to be worn near the tips of the nails and some near the cuticles. I had to trim a few to customize them to the shape of my nails. For my base color I used a white cream from American Apparel called "T-shirt". The water decals were fairly easy to apply but because some of them in this set is a tad bigger than usual water decal designs, I experienced a little bit of puckering though the problem is mostly fixed with a thick coat of top coat.

You can notice a tiny bit of puckering on my middle finger (left side).

Green checkered stripes By muxe

Let’s pretend that the rainy autumn is not here, and there’s still a warm sunny weather outside :) Today’s manicure is exactly like that! It’s about bright red flowers and green checkered stripes:

The checkered stripes are water decals that I got from KKCenterHK for review. I love all kinds of water decals and I often use them in my nail designs. What I like about this very product is that the decals are a bit stretchy. My nails are curved and sometimes it’s not that easy to place water decals correctly and without tiny wrinkles (because the decals are always perfectly flat). This time the images were easy to apply, I got a wrinkle free finish.

The red flowers are freehand painted with acrylic paint, the shade is cadmium red. The golden dots in the middle of the flowers are done with Orly Luxe which is a golden foil nail polish.

31 day nail challenge - Delicate print (collab) By ana-s-beautyblog

Hello, ladies.

Today’s theme is “Delicate print” and, I admit, it was pretty difficult until I chose a pattern. At first I thought about a stamping pattern with beautiful and delicate flowers, then I wanted to use some stamping plates with some lacey patterns. But in the last minute I remembered I have some water decals from KK Center, perfect for today’s theme.

Tema de astazi este “Delicate print” si, recunosc, a fost destul de greu pana am ales un model. Initial m-am gandit sa fac un stamping cu flori frumoase si delicate, apoi am vrut sa folosesc niste placute cu modele dantelate. Insa pe ultima suta de metri mi-am amintit ca am niste water decals de la KK Center, care se potriveau perfect cu tema.

For today’s manicure I used as a base China Glaze Holographic Astro-Hot. The nail polish needs to be shaken before applied, the holo effect is more obvious in artifical light, while in full sun in doesn’t have the same intensity and it needs two coats for a full coverage. It dries amazingly fast, but it doesn’t last that long – after only one day it starts chipping.

Pentru manichiura de astazi am folosit ca baza China Glaze Holographic Astro-Hot. Oja trebuie agitata inainte de aplicare, efectul holo este mai evident la lumina artificiala decat in razele soarelui si este nevoie de doua straturi pentru a acoperi complet unghia. Se usuca uimitor de repede, insa nu rezista prea mult pe unghii: dupa o zi incepe sa se ciobeasca la varfuri.

Let’s talk about the water decals. Although it seems difficult, in reality they’re really easy to apply.

Here’s what you have to do:

- remove the protective foil;

- cut one water decald at a time and, holding it with a tweezer, dip it in a cup full of warm water and hold it there for 30 seconds;

- remove it from water, place it on your index finger with the pattern facing your skin and gently slide the paper;

- apply the pattern on your nail using the tweezer;

- if it doesn’t apply properly don’t panic, there’s a really easy way to fix it: apply top coat on the lower half of the pattern, then on the upper one; this way, the pattern will stick perfectly to the nail.

Sa vorbim si despre water decals. Desi pare dificil, in realitate se aplica extrem de usor.

Iata ce trebuie facut:

- indepartati folia protectoare;

- taiati cate un water decal si, tinandu-l cu o penseta, il introduceti intr-un pahar cu apa calda, unde il tineti circa 30 de secunde;

- il scoateti din apa, il puneti pe aratator cu modelul in jos si trageti usor de hartie;

- folosind penseta fixati modelul pe unghie;

- daca nu se lipeste cum trebuie nu va panicati, se va rezolva totul cu putin top coat, pe care-l aplicati mai intai pe jumatatea inferioara a modelului, apoi pe cea superioara; astfel, modelul se va lipi perfect de unghie.

Asta este tot si, dupa cum vedeti, este extrem de simplu. Daca va plac si va tenteaza watwr decal-urile le puteti gasi pe site-ul KK Center. Veti gasi o varietate foarte mare de water decal-uri, iar eu le-am trecut deja pe wish-list pe cele cu fluturi, ursi panda, printese Disney si Sailor Moon :D.
