Microbead Review & A Studded Mani by thepolishsquirrel

I have another product review from KKCenterHk today.  I’ve been wanting to try microbeads for a while, and they generously sent me three different colors to review.  Each comes in a little vial with a tiny jar for pouring/storing.  Very convenient.  And they have some gorgeous colors!

This is by far my favorite!  It’s called Sapphire Blue and my picture does not do it justice.  You can check out a much more accurate picture (and buy it) here.  I cannot wait to do a “fish egg” mani with this!  Just need to find a good base color.

I was also sent metallic gold microbeads, which you can find here.  These will be a perfect accent to almost any mani!

And silver microbeads, which I forgot to take a picture of before I poured them into the pot.  You can get the silver ones here.

Their website has directions for the “fish egg” mani, in which the beads cover the entire nail.  As much as I like that look (and want to try it really soon), I decided to do something else I’ve mean meaning to try for a while: the studded mani made famous by The Nailasaurus!

Mine isn’t as good as hers, but I still love it! I actually really like the smaller beads on this because they don’t get in the way as much.  For the base, I wanted to do something a bit different, so I went with Essie Stylenomics, a blackened green.  The bubbles on my nails are due to a very old bottle of Seche Vite (all I had, sorry!) not the beads. They were very easy to work with – all I needed was topcoat and a toothpick to place them.

I think they turned out pretty well despite the topcoat issues.  Plus, it doesn’t even look like I made a dent in my microbeads, so I will definitely be using them to create other looks.

Overall, I really like these microbeads.  They’re nice and small, and very easy to work with.  Plus the little jar/pot they come with makes storage super easy – you don’t have to deal with getting them all back in the little vial.  And they can be used for so many different looks!  Great to have in your nail art arsenal
